- The registration details Nominet requires us to hold
- Records of the conversations and correspondence we’ve had with you
- Payment information, where it’s needed to take a payment or issue a refund
- Basic technical information that helps us provide support
How We Use It
We only use your data where there’s a real reason to. In practice that means:
- Providing and managing your domain registrations
- Contacting you about renewals, your account or support requests
- Looking into abuse reports and complaints
- Meeting our legal and regulatory duties, including our obligations to Nominet
Two things we will never do: sell your personal data, or send you marketing you didn’t sign up for.
Who Sees Your Data
Your data is shared only when it genuinely has to be, and only with:
- Nominet, the .uk registry, so registrations can be completed and maintained
- Suppliers who carry out technical or domain-related work for us
- Payment providers, purely to process a transaction
- Regulators or law enforcement, where the law requires it
How We Protect and Keep It
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to guard against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, and only staff who actually need your data for their work can get to it.
We keep personal data no longer than we need to – that is, while there’s an operational, legal or support reason to hold it. After that, it’s securely deleted or anonymised.
Your Rights
UK data protection law gives you real control over your information. You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, restrict how we use it, or request that we delete it. To use any of these rights, just contact us via the details on our Contact page.
